1st SEMOC Microscópica Image Contest
Sometimes, while you are doing research with a microscope, you stumble upon photos that are pure magic. They have an unexpected beauty that instantly grabs you. It's as if science is telling you: "Hey, stop for a second, there's art here." These images have the power to pull us out of our work loop and encourage us to dream a little.
Any researcher who has spent hours glued to the eyepiece knows what we're talking about. Suddenly, bam!, that image appears. Because of its colors, shapes, or aesthetics, you forget about the data and start seeing completely different things.
And what do we usually do with them? Well, they normally end up in the digital trash or saved in a "curiosities" folder so as not to distract from the important stuff.
But that's over now! The idea for this contest stems precisely from that: wanting to rescue these visual gems and celebrate the exact point where science merges with art. Get involved!

👉 Voting results for X
We’ve realized that quite a few people from the IIBM don’t use this social network, so we decided to open an extra vote through an online survey so that no one is left without the chance to give their opinion.
And the winners of the Survey vote are:
1st Prize: Medullary Symphony - Eliezer Navarro - Lab. A. Castrillo
2nd Prize: Dog days are over - Dario Cilleros - Lab. M. Lasa
