We are studying the activating pathways of UCP1 by adrenergic agents and its synergism with T3 in cultures of brown adipocytes. We also studied the inhibition by serum and insulin and the signaling pathways involved. We have also studied the role of Triac as thermogenic agent in BAT. The regulation of D2 activity and expression, ans its relation to the thermogenic process is another important research line. We also try to identify genes with expression is altered in adipose tissue from obese patients and the relationship with the pathology of obesity and we study some of those genes in cultures of adipocytes.
