The 2nd SRUK/CERU Cancer Research Networking Day took place on September 18th, 2023, in Madrid at the National Cancer Research Center (CNIO). The event aimed to provide an opportunity to bring together experts from diverse backgrounds and fields of expertise to network, share knowledge, exchange ideas, and foster new collaborations in the areas of liquid biopsy, immunotherapy and cancer stem cells. Dr. Bruno Sainz, Group Leader of the Cancer Stem Cells and Fibroinflammatory Microenvironment Group, kicked off the Stem Cells session with his talk entitled "Targeting Cancer Stem Cells in Pancreatic Cancer: From bench to “almost” bedside.”
Dr. Sainz also took the opportunity to introduce, both the SRUK/CERU and the participants, to the platform Conexión Cáncer (CSIC HUB) via an informative video featuring Dr. Angela Nieto and Dr. Guillermo de Cárcer Díez.
Young researchers, including Javier Velázquez Gutiérrez from Dr. Isabel Sanchez's Chromosomal Instability and Tumorigenesis Group also presented their work in the form of Flash Talks. Javier's presentation was one of the three talks selected for an award sponsored by the Foundation Cris Contra El Cáncer.
